Supervision

Supporting the people who support everyone else.

Supervision.jpg

When you spend your career supporting others through trauma, crisis, complexity and change, you need a space where you can pause, reflect and think clearly.

Whether you're a coach, therapist, social worker, healthcare professional, charity leader or manager, supervision provides a confidential space to explore the emotional, ethical and professional realities of your work.

Together we might explore:

✓ Complex client presentations

✓ Trauma-informed practice

✓ Safeguarding and ethical decision-making

✓ Professional boundaries and scope of practice

✓ Compassion fatigue, burnout and vicarious trauma

✓ Leadership challenges and team dynamics

✓ Nervous system regulation and practitioner wellbeing

✓ Building confidence in difficult decisions

My approach combines over 25 years of frontline experience with trauma-informed practice, nervous system science, clinical reflection and compassionate challenge. As a qualified social worker, accredited coach and trainer, I've worked across high-risk services, healthcare, charities and leadership settings, supporting both individuals and organisations to work safely, ethically and sustainably.

One thing my clients often say is that they can tell me anything.

After two decades working in some of society's most complex environments, very little shocks me. Supervision is a place where honesty is welcomed, difficult conversations are encouraged, and you don't have to carry everything on your own.

“Supervision with Karen has created a deeper relationship within myself, which is something I did not expect. She has exceeded my expectations of what supervision is entirely. Her support in navigating my own being in relation to my clients has been a turning point in how I have been able to care for and support my clients in real time.

I didn’t know it was possible to move forward in the way I have with her knowledge, guidance, reflections, and realness. If you aren’t receiving supervision, you are missing out on an integral part of working with human beings, the part where you meet yourself honestly so you can meet others authentically.”

Who I work with

I provide supervision for:

  • Coaches and therapists

  • Social workers and healthcare professionals

  • Charity leaders and CEOs

  • Managers and team leaders

  • Organisations supporting people affected by trauma

What’s so great about supervision?

Supervision is an opportunity for you to have protected time with an experienced peer to talk through the impact that your work is having on you personally. It’s a vital and dynamic space for you to let off steam and talk through the challenges of your client work so you can find solutions to move forward with clarity and confidence. It’s also a good time to explore your decision-making processes and reflect on whether this is as person-centred and ethical as they should be.

Supervision is essential for your own wellbeing and professional development, which in turn helps you to achieve the best outcomes for the people you work with. And that’s why you do what you do right? To improve their lives! But not to lose yourself in the process! YOU matter. You being OK matters…

“Karen is a rare gift - her laser sharp vision, professional expertise, warmth and humour create a nurturing, supportive space where you can bring the whole of your human self to be held in all the messiness.I share all the things that impact my work, plan next steps and am asked brilliant questions in my supervision with Karen/my cheerleader.

Karen has inspired me and helped create the dream work life that I never dreamed possible. She completely believes in her clients ability, even when they doubt it and is a fierce advocate for humans, whilst modelling brilliantly balanced boundaries.

Basically, if you work with humans, you need Karen holding you. It’s that simple. She is incredible.”
